Participant Requirements

Open to practitioners of all levels, this seminar will allow participants to train with and learn from Pat Hendricks Shihan, one of the world's most senior level aikido instructors and one of Morihiro Saito's closest disciples. 


Technical Focus

The technical curriculum will focus on empty-handed and weapons techniques with a goal of providing practitioners of all styles with insights and details that can be incorporated into their own practice. 


Schedule / Agenda

  • Introduction / Opening Remarks: 10-10:15am
  • Training Session 1: 10:15-11:15am
  • Training Session 2: 11:30am-12:30pm
  • Lunch Break: 12:30-2:30pm
  • Training Session 3: 2:30-3:30pm
  • Training Session 4: 3:45-4:45pm
  • Q&A / Closing Remarks: 4:45-5:30pm

Please bring training weapons (bokken, jo, and machete). We're just kidding about the machete

Hosted at the Anteater Recreation Center on the UC Irvine campus. The facility is 10 minutes from SNA airport.

About Patricia Hendricks

Patricia Hendricks began studying aikido in 1974. Two years later, she moved to Iwama, Japan to study with Morihiro Saito and spent the next 30 years living in and traveling to Japan to train. She holds a Menkyo Kaiden in weapons from Saito sensei and is now a 7th dan shihan ranked under the Aikikai. In addition to running her own dojo, she oversees approximately 40 dojos as a division head of the CAA.  She travels globally, leading seminars around the world.
